4y/o will not stop whine crying

Ignore whining and engage when they speak in calm tone.


Yea this worked with my kid. Just remember to never engage with whining, no matter how tempting.

For me it always works in the moment to say “please ask me again in a normal voice not a whiny one” , and he complies (in a quieter, grumpy, but normal voice). But it never sticks or promotes, like, lasting change. I think he is just 4 and will grow out of it.

Exactly. Let him cry it out with no response and when he calms down, he can try again.
