Thanks for sharing OP. I agree it’s fascinating to learn the history behind today’s state of affairs. We are one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world, yet we struggle to find the funding for our public schools. It is shameful!

EXACTLY! If you want to be able to control everything and everyone, you do not want the masses to be educated. An educated populace is a foundation of a democracy - you need educated voters. But it's pretty clear the conservative party is not interested in democracy; only power.
