There are no “new” Pell grant metrics. The Pell graduation rate went from 2.5 to 3% consideration as did Pell graduation rates. A bigger change was student to faculty ratio from 1 to 3% consideration.

Greater emphasis placed on Pell recipient outcomes

If you don't mind, I'd love to hear more about your experience -- what you appreciated then, what you appreciate in retrospect, what the vibe was, what sort of student might like it. Thanks!

I’m one of those Pell grant recipients to the other PP. They had great financial aid packages and really worked with me when I was struggling to study abroad and afford school (no family help). Study abroad options are fantastic and I was able to complete two study abroad programs. Amazing professors that really care about their students - I’m friends on Facebook with a lot of them still. Great internship options since it’s close to Chicago, and culture (lots alum or people in the town of Lake Forest donate tickets to the opera, symphony, etc.). They have a large international student community. Cons include small town, some very insufferable wealthy kids that couldn’t make it to the elite schools, expensive area so most students live on campus for 4 years, sports were semi-important but many of the teams weren’t very good but I know after leaving they invested a lot in the new stadium so maybe they have improved. There’s a Greek (sorority/fraternity) community on campus but they don’t have houses. Parties are pretty lame but it’s a close knit campus community.

Very helpful, PP. You sound like the kind of person who would make the most of anyplace you go, but it’s great to get a positive, while realistic, response. We’ve been eyeing it for its generous merit, proximity to Chicago (such a great city), lakeside location, and all around LAC benefits — small classes, close-knit, etc. Really appreciate the insight!

Super helpful, PP! Thank you. How long ago were you there?

No but the genius staff at USNWR had trouble gathering and sorting through the data and mixed some up. Wake Forest, Lake Forest close enough.

Top schools for undergraduate teaching, let’s toss them down a dozen or so places, after all isn’t that what these schools are supposed to be doing.

Oh it's got plenty of name recognition, alright.
