| Glad she is gone from politics and focusing on her health. |
Let's clarify -- Not gone from politics immediately. She's going to finish her current term, which runs another year, until the November, 2024, election. |
This is not true at all. |
Of course there are. In retrospect, there were signs that she had this affliction long before Covid. There was always something a little off about her speaking. But vaccines causing Parkinsons? That's a new one! People are stupid. Frankly, anyone posting that probably should be made to forfeit their voting rights. |
NP. This is 100% true. |
Are you kidding? There are several studies out there researching this exact link. https://www.biospace.com/article/study-illuminates-possible-link-between-covid-19-and-parkinson-s-disease/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10278957/#:~:text=Conclusion,post%2Dvaccine%20general%20side%20effects. https://translationalneurodegeneration.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40035-023-00337-1 |
It's not impossible, but simply unlikely. The flu vaccine has been linked to narcolepsy. However, as the study points out, both the vaccine and the flu can cause your immune system to attack your body if you have a particular genetic mutation. There are potentially some very unlucky people out there. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4562845/ |
Narcolepsy is not Parkinson's, and she doesn't have Parkinson's anyway, she has progressive supranuclear palsy. |
Both can be autoimmune disorders. Vaccines have been shown to cause autoimmune disorders in a very small number of people. While Wexton may not be one of these people, no one should be asked to forfeit their voting rights for following the science. Or am I supposed to ignore the NIH now? |
Vaccines can hypothetically cause autoimmune disorders, and these diseases can hypothetically be autoimmune disorders, therefore my employer should not be allowed to require me to get the flu vaccine as a condition of employment.
|
Highlighted text is correct in all cases! |
I hope you don't work in health care. |
It's a studied phenomenon, so it's not hypothetical. I see you have come around to accepting the science but have moved the goalposts to support your specious argument about voting rights. Vaccines, like seat belts, are relatively safe and effective. However, there's no such thing as "safe" or "dangerous" when dealing with the real world, only differing levels of risk. I am sorry this doesn't fit into your black and white world view. |

Autoimmune disorders are on the rise. We should all be asking questions about the causes - regardless of political implications. Auto immune disorders are not a condition any one of us would ever want to have. I personally know two people who have Parkinson's. One was a former neighbor, a young and beautiful woman with kids. It caused a lot of problems, including symptoms that mimicked schizophrenia. Scared the hell out of me when I first experienced the psychiatric-like symptoms. I can't imagine the hardships on her family. I also know someone who developed a severe auto immune disorder. It was at least as vicious a disease as cancer. |
You know what, for sure, is linked to autoimmune diseases? Viral infections. Also, you know what has not yet been established to be an autoimmune disease? Parkinson's. Also, you know what Jennifer Wexton has? Progressive supranuclear palsy. |
