The hierarchy is so useful, making browsing cleats much easier. thank you! Did see one pair labeled as "Puma Future Ultimate FG/AG Soccer Cleats", where does that land in terms of the hierarchy? |
The future ultimates are puma’s top of the line (ultimate) control boot - similar to adidas predator, but lighter and thinner, without the gimmicky external rubber. It’s all knit, so it should fit the foot well. They call it FG/AG, but the studs are very long to be considered AG (artificial grass). I haven’t tried them on personally, but Neymar wears them, so they can’t be that bad. Puma has been putting out pretty good boots at lower prices compared to adidas/nike and they get reduced pretty low. I don’t know if they will have the same quality and last as long, but if they fit well I would give them a try. |
Thanks for the detailed info! I know Neymar has been wearing Puma, but wasn't aware he's having this model lol I read some reviews on this specific model and almost everyone said it's super comfy, touch is great and stuff, but a big percentage of them also complained about how fast the sole coming apart from the fabric. usually after 3-4 games

If they fit the best, then it is worth taking the chance. They are supposed to be warrantied for 180 days, and since they are marketed as FG/AG any use on turf would not void the warranty the way it would with adidas or Nike FG boots. It would be a pain to deal with the warranty replacement if it did come apart, but I would expect the sole separating to be covered and hopefully it won’t happen to you. Again - I have not tried any of the futures on personally, but I have seen reviews that the first take down model (future pro) has the same knit upper with a slightly different micro texture but almost identical feel - but the Pro has a dofferent sole plate that is more AG (some conical studs, an extra stud under the forefoot). You can get those for 80. |
