Lilly Pulitzer is junk.

Is LP still a thing or is the quality effecting its popularity?

It was always junk OP. It has nothing to do with Tommy Bahama. It's just that you are now realizing what you should have realized the first time you saw the stuff.

Don’t mind the haters. They’re just northeasterners and self-hating southerners who hate anything bright or colorful or otherwise not part of a drab austerity capsule wardrobe.

Pretty much. I had a friend from Michigan like this, it was like she was physically repelled by colors.

I like a lot of their non printed pieces. Some of my favorite sweaters and blouses are Lilly, but you would never know unless you know. They're in solid colors and have held up well for me. I also have a few of the printed blouses because I think they're fun for summer.

I’m from the PacNW so I have no dog in the fight and never saw anything LP until I moved out here. But I’ve been on DCUM long enough to see the absolutely unhinged hatred on here of anything associated with the south.

I’ve noticed this too.

I still like them for certain occasions. And similar to a PP I really like some of the solid color items that are made well. Lined dresses, etc. I do pay full price for those and have been happy.

Of course Lilly is going to make some of the cheap prints for people who want the vibe but don't want to pay full price. It's too bad.

I’m in a FB group with women who go crazy for it and buy new things every time they release new prints. Too much for me but whatever floats their boat.

+1 I shop the sales and that’s about it. They did send me a $50 off $150 coupon in my email the other day so I was able to get one of the new fall items for a decent price.

Most of the stuff is the same inexpensive stretchy fabric as everywhere else that’s 1/3 of the price. So not worth it at full price, maybe worth it on the 50%+ off sales if you really like a particular print. However, some of the dresses are lined and pretty flattering and well-constructed for summer events, IF you can hang with the fact that they are all mostly super short. Also, I really like their Skipper popovers. They are made well and are versatile for layering.

It's ugly and most women that I see in LP are very overweight!. Looking like a giant sherbet ice cream.

When I was a older teen, I wore their dresses a lot and they were nicely made. I went to look at some point within the last year and the dresses feel cheaper.

They seem to be yet another brand that have played with proportions over time (perhaps to save money on materials?) and the result is that they look cheap and awkward.

It's junk.

Well…just about everything is under $200. That isn’t exactly high fashion, amazing quality prices. What do you expect?

I'm a size 10, and none of their items would flatter me. I think you need to be fairly thin to pull the look off. A friend of mine has some of their stuff and looks nice in it. It's not exactly my taste anyway.
