Applying to TJ and expunging a grade

Don't expunge it, they will probably think it's worse than a B+. Still apply.

I think you should reach out to FCPS—this is a very specific question that anonymous posters on this board won‘t know the answer to. That said, there may be reasons for, or against, expunging the grade separate and apart from the TJ application, and I would think those through before making a decision.

Taking a step back, one thing to consider is the math sequence at TJ. Algebra II, which is a year-long course at other high schools, is condensed to one semester at TJ. While a B+ is a good grade, think about whether DC‘s Algebra foundation is strong enough to do well in a condensed Algebra II.

+1 to the last paragraph. B+ is a good grade. DS has that now in Alg 1 Honors. I would not expunge it. But if he ends the year at that level it would make me think TJ wouldn’t be the best fit for him. The math has kept DD on her toes (there now) and she sailed through everything prior to TJ.
