The 2028 president elect will be Kristi Noem.

Trump will nominate her for VP, and she will run in 2028 and win, regardless of what happens in 2024.

If there is an open primary and Ernst, Reynolds, noem, stefanik and Nancy mace were all running, noem probably finished mid pack or below even if she is the hottest or second hottest of that bunch

Joni would smash pretty much any R in an open primary sans trump

Biden steps down after January 2027. VP becomes President and runs for President in 2028 and 2032 as the incumbent. Therefore, no need for a cattle call Democratic primary until 2036. There is a definite edge to being the incumbent.
