Live in Falls Church and have been several times. This place is really inconsistent. We’ve had great meals but also so-so meals and on a couple of occasions bad service. I wouldn’t trust it to a big occasion.

^^agree!! My husband won't go back due to this. However, we know many couples who still find this their go-to place.

Shoto is my go to for special occasion without totally breaking the bank for Mini Bar or Pineapple and Pearls. I actually think Shoto is better than Nobu.

I also like Little Pearl but it’s a set menu and you won’t have choice.

Rooster and Owl is nice, although doesn’t feel entirely like a special occasion to me, but it’s always consistent and good.

Minibar
Rose’s Luxury
Pineapple and Pearl
Bazaar

We love prix-fixe and had a nice time at Obelisk

the garden looks so nice - it is absolutely packed on a nice fall day, or maybe try a week day? I see they close Thurs/Friday from 1:30-4:30pm. Would love to try the brasserie/drinks in the garden

+2 and I thought I was the only one! I've never enjoyed a meal there; service has been spotty and the food was fine, but nothing that made me especially happy. I kept trying ... I think I've been like 5 times now because everyone raves about it, so I thought I was missing something. Nope.
