On Muncaster Mill, it's possible the bus driver pulled out unsafely, but just from the photos, my first guess would be that the car driver was going too fast to be able to stop. |

What is it with that road? There was a fatal accident with an MCPS bus on Muncaster Mill back in 2000; a truck coming the other way towing a piece of farm equipment lost control and the farm equipment jackknifed and went through the front of the bus. The driver was killed and 3 students had to be helicoptered to Children's.
We should suspend judgment until they figure out what happened. |
Agree that high speed was likely involved. If that road has a little rise before Miller road, it’s possible the bus couldn’t see the car when it started to enter the turn, and the car didn’t react quickly enough when it saw the bus. |
| This is very concerning. My daughter takes a bus pretty far away each day and she said they had a new bus driver who was very late, had no idea where any of the schools were and asked the students for help navigating around the road closure on Snowden Farm Pkwy. My daughter also said she hit a curb and drove like she just got her CDL license. |

Any update from the BMW bus crash back in May?

| Any update on the BMW that crashed into the bus in May? Did the high school senior and his younger brother survive? |
DP but maybe they are having a bad day? Maybe their kid is ill and they are distracted. Has it ever occurred to you that when you respond to someone online, they are behind whatever mistakes you perceive them to be making, a living breathing human being with a complex life? Perhaps you should be less hasty about jumping all over people and this forum would be a better place. |
I know the family. They did survive. |
