MCPS Bus accident this morning

Anonymous
An MCPS was involved in a bus accident on River Road this morning. I didn’t see any injured children but they were on the side of the road. There was a huge response of emergency vehicles and a really badly damaged car. I’m surprised this has not been covered in the local media. I hope that everyone is ok.

I read about it on Nextdoor. Apparently two people joined the discussion that were right next to or behind the bus. It was quite scary. A sedan was apparently going above the speed limit and the wrong way, and crashed into the front of the bus. The bus tilted over, but the children were not hurt. The bus driver and assistant are "fine". The sedan driver was unresponsive at the scene and carried off on a stretcher. Sedan was badly damaged, airbags deployed, etc.

Buses are big, heavy beasts. Don't tangle with 'em!
