I don’t have a strong opinion on whether there has been any change in the level of anti semitic tweets or tweeters.

I think Elon is saying that ADL went around to advertisers and discouraged them from doing business with Twitter based on false claims about such an increase.

If Elon is right, he may have a case against Twitter.

When I say I support Elon it is because I generally support his pro free speech policies.

I don’t have any special insight into whether he’s right or wrong about ADL claims (or frankly what ADL said or didn’t say to advertisers). Hope this clarifies my views

I also think that reflexive claims of anti semitism to shield ADL are misguided.

If ADL = Jews, then the transitive is also true, namely that Jews are collectively responsible for ADL.

That’s crazy. ADL is simply an advocacy group that focuses on large part of Jewish issues. Many Jews support ADL; some do not.

There is no case for Musk against ADL. They came by their opinion about hate speech honestly.

As a casual observer, it's not readily knowable whether there is more or less anti semitism. There are 500M tweets per day. You'd need data analytics to figure it out. And ADL would need to purchase that analysis.

As a casual observer, it's not readily knowable whether there is more or less anti semitism. There are 500M tweets per day. You'd need data analytics to figure it out. And ADL would need to purchase that analysis.

The problem with these sort of analysis is that the definition of antisemitism/hate is very fluid and subjective. You can come to whatever conclusion you want just messing with definitions. The ADL considers dozens of numbers to be hateful/anti-Semitic for instance. Common phrases and gestures have been added as well.

If its in the ADL's financial interest to find more hate, then surprise, they find more hate.

He's not actually "going after". He's just talking more gibberish. If he did take it to court, it would hold up about as well as his last court battle, where he was forced to buy Twitter.

Boy I tell you what - I feel like Twitter is just worse by the day.

You used to be able to justify being on there because it wasn't morally worse than other platforms, AND it was a good way to access information (plus could be entertaining).

Neither of those things is true now. It's just about impossible to find info when you want it - I am in Florida and during the hurricane last week, it was an almost useless source.

And now with this ADL thing, as a Jew I find it EXTREMELY hard to justify using this app at all. It's still open just out of habit, basically. But I need to close it. There really is no way I can justify using it any more.
