+1. I found a couple that will do MSRP, but I will have to drive 2-2.5 hrs away. From my POV, saving $5K+ is well worth that time.

The Morgantown Toyota dealer we used said they have lots of people who do this. Apparently there is a quick flight from Nova to Morgantown and they’ll pick you up. Several thousand for an afternoon of my time doing an easy and pretty drive is well worth it.
Screw off Bethesda dealers.

+2. no love for Tysons Toyota here

Just bought a 2023 odyssey for MSRP this week (ordered 2-3 weeks ago). Of the three local dealers we spoke with this was the only one with no extra fees or required accessories. 2024 has a fee even at this dealer. Bethesda Honda was by far the worst.

How do you “order” a 2023 when the 2024’s are already coming off the line. You mean they traded with another dealership for you?

If you are buying a brand new car, there are no reasons to be limited to local dealerships. You can buy from any dealer nationwide and have it shipped to you. There are plenty of dealerships outside the DMV that are cheaper even when including the shipping costs.

As I said, we ordered it weeks ago. It was made overseas and then we picked it up when it arrived at the dealer. They were still rolling out new 2023s very recently and the boats take two weeks. I didn’t say you can do it now. Now they have switched to 2024s. I was sharing our experience.

I wonder how the auto workers strike might affect things now.

Very strange to import an international market Honda Odyssey. American market ones are built in Alabama.

Bought a hybrid Toyota Highlander for $6k over MSRP a couple months ago. Felt lucky to even get one at all, as the wait list was long and the model is getting discontinued in favor of the Grand Highlander, which is even more expensive.
