Honest answers:

You get a lot more children of trophy wives at Langley than at McLean.

Great Falls is more for rich people who want land and mansions while McLean is for rich people who want to live near other people.

Langley lost a fair amount of teaching talent and academic talent during their renovation. It’s one of the smaller schools in FCPS now.

Fairfax is by far the largest school district in the state so . . .

And TJ isn’t a Fairfax school.

You are mistaken. FCPS owns, operates, and oversees TJ.

And Fairfax doesn’t account for 60% of the high schools in the state, just 60% of the top 10.

It is absolutely an FCPS school. It is operated expressly and exclusively by FCPS.

No, it isn’t. It’s a Governor’s school. It gets state funding and is open to students from outside of Fairfax County.

Not PP, but the supplemental state funding and 30% of students from other jurisdictions don’t change the fact that FCPS operates the school.

PP. Reading comprehension.

TJ gets private funding too, but those entities don’t operate it either.

Rich does not equal smart, PP. In fact, frequently it means lazy and entitled, those kids just don't take tests.

Note: Your assertion is contrary to the facts.

"U.S. News used assessment data from 2018-2019 and 2020-2021, which accounts for a pandemic pause in testing, as reported by WTOP. That data came from before students were chosen under the new admissions policy implemented by the Fairfax County School Board, a move that has drawn a divide among families and a lawsuit from opposed families."

TJ used to be ranked #1.

I expect the downward trend will continue based on the woke affirmative action dumbing down of the school.

Well seeing how it's ranking fell before your alleged " woke affirmative action dumbing down of the school" seems none of that matters. It was on a downward trend before all that.

TJ graduates top students who were top students to begin with; so is it the quality of the school or the quality of the students? It’s much easier to teach / lead smart, motivated students. I wish schools that have dramatically improved their graduation rates / college placement rates would also be recognized on these rankings Those schools are really doing the hard work sometimes under duress.

Data for this ranking are assessments from before the new policy.

It's hardly on a downward trend:
"Liana Loewus, the managing editor for education at U.S. News, said very small shifts in data can cause big changes in the rankings.

“So with TJ, there were just very small shifts in assessment data,” Loewus said. “But because especially those top schools, they are so close to each other, just a small shift can look like a precipitous drop. But it doesn’t mean too much has really changed there.”

Kids from neighboring jurisdictions can come to FCPS.

The current FCPS school board is a DISASTER.

Every one of them must be voted out resoundingly.

They have done immense damage to FCPS, and the damage to our schools extends far beyond the TJ debacle.
