Not 12 year olds. U13-u18 should in many aspects be trying to win games. Not sure what is up w brave but the club doesn’t win much so it must not be important to them. |
I assume your kid didn’t make Brave? The girls win plenty, as has repeatedly been shown in the other Brave threads. Some of their teams (like the 10s) are amongst the strongest in the mid-A. |
Lol. I will say that I didn’t see brave this weekend but did see almost all of the other local ecnl clubs and a few ga clubs. Please do inform me how many games the other age groups have won? |
| On the boys side, BRAVE is struggling against SYC’s MLS Next 2 teams. SYC II took 2 out of 3 from them. It’s borderline child abuse for BRAVE’s teams to be playing ECNL, when they are losing 5-0 to SYC II. |
h SYC falsely reported a win against our team. Arlington’s 2008 ECNL lost to SYC II today. |
| I love this troll who starts these anti- BRAVE threads. Sorry, you had a bad experience. Go find something better to do and focus your energy on that |
|
What age group are you in OP? Even the 1st year of ECNL at U13, the coach/club should care about every single ECNL league game. Now should be the time to get ready for league. That means doing scrimmages/games vs other teams to get ready for league.
Sounds odd if your team isn't preparing for the long season with a preseason to prepare for the first game. I've not been associated with an ECNL team where they use league games at the beginning of the season to warm up. |
I didn’t start the thread, but I don’t think anyone is anti-BRAVE. I think most people on this board feel sorry for y’all. |
| My suggestion to the “new to Brave” parent would be to have a word with their coach - I’m sure they would be happy to explain their preseason prep approach. Not sure what useful information you’re going to get on this board. |
This is the most useful advice I’ve seen on this board. |
You haven’t met the coach. No preseason parent meeting or any communication other than an email on his expectations. Doesn’t seem approachable without risking DD’s playing time. I don’t expect answers just context to see if this is normal or not at this level. |
If it’s Michel, he’s a nice guy, and I would totally feel comfortable asking. If it’s Tyler, I don’t know him. |
Good to hear the brave merger is going as well as expected. Might as well merge w fcv to give them a pathway to ecnl. Both clubs have a need and problem to solve. |
Because they are a roster of giants who kick over the top. Not exactly beautiful football. |
They wouldn't be the first to take that approach. Most of the teams in the area chose the biggest and fastest kids. |
