My kid at college just tested positive. She has a cough that she thought was bronchitis which she gets frequently. Nope covid- first time for any one in our family. Aside from the cough she feels fine. Got an inhaler and already feels better.
She just finished rush with 2000+ other girls. I figure half of the school probably has it by now. Not concerned in the least. |
This needs to be the position moving forward. |
This. Hope she's feeling better soon. Just don't take any gubment sanctioned shots. That shit is history and damn foolish. |
There were parents like this before COVID. Not that it’s right, but it’s not like COVID is some special virus at this point. People should keep their kids home when actively sick and return as symptoms are improving. We don’t need an announcement about testing for COVID. It makes no difference to me whether it’s COVID or a cold. We aren’t doing 10 day isolation periods so what is the point of paying for all these tests and swabbing my young elementary kids at this point? |
No one asked you to keep your kid home for ten days....please stop with your tiresome tantrum about Covid. |
Of course you’re not concerned, your daughter didn’t get sick but she’s still in the contagious period and running around passing it on to whoever is unlucky enough to be close to her. |
Can you read? She is positive. And yes she’s still out and about. The school has no covid policy thankfully |
You left teaching because anecdotes are not informative about the severity of covid variants at the population level? |
She tested positive. She didn’t get sick. She’s running around with silly girls who are trying get into a club based on looks. So, no she didn’t get sick. She’ll never know if she infected someone who is lying in bed with a high fever, headache, nonstop coughing, too sick to move. And you know she didn’t wear a mask. We’re coming to a point where self centered people are the majority. |
And you are bragging about this? That's pretty horrible. Ever consider your parenting if she thinks this is ok? |
| I don’t care how much it sucks, or is inconvenient, we’re not going back to virtual. That experiment failed. |
Indeed. All the snowflakes that would prefer to hide in their homes while life goes on should be supported though... |

Covid sucks but there’s literally nothing you can do (other than get vaccinated) that will stop or slow it down significantly. We’re all going to get Covid every year or two. The only question is how much more collateral damage we do to kids along the way. |
You're not in charge of "the position". |
