how much kWh of electricity do you use per day?

Anonymous
I use 25-30kWh in the summer, on average. Less in winter as I have gas heat. I did recently buy a EV so once a week or so I use closer to 80 kWh.

And my house is about 2000 sq ft, maybe slightly less. I keep,y house cool, especially at night and I work from home so I expect that bumps it up a bit.

4500 square foot house. About 70kw per day, about 60% of which we generate in solar. Just checked my solar app for this info.

AC is electric. We cook with gas. Our heat is gas, dryer is gas.

Our home is 2400sqft. Our windows are about 15 years old. Our average electricity usage during the summer is 25-30 KW. We used 933 KW in July and our bill is $498.00. Looking at our bill from Nov 2022 (Fall months) our average daily usage 15 KW. Our bill was $349.

It's a lot.

1500 sq foot townhouse here, 50+ years old and windows about 15. Average about 15kw/day (AC set to 77/day, 71/night). Household of just one to be fair. Last electric bill was $49.

Can I move in with you PP?

It wouldn't matter, because somehow that PP is getting a rate that's a fraction of everyone else's.

We live in a 2,000 SF older home that is poorly insulated. We have natural gas for heat and hot water. In the winter, if it happens to be a day where we did not use the washer or dryer or vacuum or stove or dishwasher, we use 24 kwh a day. So that seems to be our "baseline".

In summer we use usually about 80 Kwh a day. Sometimes more on a really hot day. Sometimes less on a milder day.

We replaced our A/C unit four years ago with a more energy efficient unit and the new one uses about 20 percent less electricity than the old one to cool the house.

We keep the thermostat at 74 during the day and 73 at night at the height of summer. We keep the thermostat a little lower the rest of the year.

It's not a special rate. You can choose to sign up for Dominion's off peak plan if you live in VA.

Florida poster here again. Yes, that is what I was thinking from reading some of the other posts on here. That pepco must charge more per kwh than Florida Power and Light does.

Florida poster again. Florida Power and Light charges 18.5 cents per kwh.

Looks like the pilot program is full. But the real differential is that Dominion on-peak is 13-16 cents per kWh. The Pepco rate above is more like 50 cents. So, we would be better off moving in with you.
