| Vienna is towards the top of the middle range by DC-area standards. It can be expensive, like Ashburn and North Bethesda/Rockville, but it’s not generally considered “high-end.” |
| Vienna is huge. There are parts around Dunn Loring that are more transitional, like Pimmit Hills and Shrevewood. There's the Town of Vienna, which is more uniform (although also transitional) like FCC and N. Arlington. And then there's there's the area around Wolf Trap, where the schools are zoned for Langley/McLean, and the prices reflect it. |
Pimmit Hills and Shrevewood are in Falls Church, not Vienna or Dunn Loring. The area around Wolf Trap is in Vienna, but feeds to Marshall and Langley, not McLean. And the Town of Vienna is anything but “uniform,” as you could find houses from the 1950s, 1970s, and 2022 on the same block. |
| No, second tier. |
Tell me how much houses cost (tear downs, fixer uppers, older mcMansions, new mcMansions) and these ranges should be telling. |
| What is DCUMs obsession with high end? Vienna is a great place to live, period. |
Excuse me. We are online and this is how online is. Our society is obsessed with “high end” and if it’s anonymous it’s even more important! SMH Back to OP, yes if price is an indicator then yes Vienna is up there. In NOVA the debate is Vienna vs McLean so they are the top two destinations, which is better? We will never know on this board! |
| This is just another troll. Move along. |
The areas in NoVa closer in price to McLean are in Great Falls and North Arlington, not Vienna. |
| North Arlington is actually more expensive than McLean on a per sq ft basis. |
But the houses are smaller so the typical house is less expensive than in either McLean or Great Falls. |
| Great falls? Come on. |
| 20 years ago no. Now it's the new McLean |
| Vienna is upscale. Most of Oakton pretends it is Vienna |
Oakton is more like Great Falls and a step up from Vienna, so no. |
