All? Which schools have sent them out? |
Well, I left my magic scrying bowl behind on my last trip to Hogwarts, so I have no way of knowing what school you are talking about and therefore can’t tell you when it might send the info you need. |
| GDS supplies all the books—no ordering necessary which is so great! Wish all schools did this. |
But no cafeteria for US? |
BIM is now Big 3. What school did it supplant? |
| This is a thread about books, not cafeterias. |
That's how it used to be at most privates, but now that there are so many ways to get books, often used or cheaper, people demand options. |
I think it is completely reasonable to email the 9th grade coordinator or the curriculum head to ask about the procedure for textbooks. Just say you are new, heard that you would need to buy textbooks, and ask how/when that is typically done. Sidwell sends a link to a company - each class/teacher is listed with required and recommended books. But it includes full ISBN numbers in case you want to look for better deals elsewhere. |
And at GDS, seniors can only apply to 10 colleges—max. There are trade offs in life. I would rather my children have an onsite cafeteria, and no restrictions on where they can apply to college. I’m fine ordering books (shrug). |
