Don't feel comfortable reaching out to ask.[/quote] I think it is completely reasonable to email the 9th grade coordinator or the curriculum head to ask about the procedure for textbooks. Just say you are new, heard that you would need to buy textbooks, and ask how/when that is typically done. Sidwell sends a link to a company - each class/teacher is listed with required and recommended books. But it includes full ISBN numbers in case you want to look for better deals elsewhere.[/quote]
