My kids (12 and 9) vastly preferred Costa Rica to Amsterdam and Belgium (and London and Paris). Do you kids like museums, looking at “old stuff” and wandering around neighborhoods”? Or do they like zip lining, rafting, and beach?

There are actually kids who like history, art, science, etc. and they like museums. The key is preparation and having read books.

+1 Fly into Munich, but depends on when in the Spring. Early spring might be cold. Berchtesgaden and Salzburg are also good choices. Those are some of my favorite areas. But, again, it could be cold.

Greece might be a good choice.

The Keukenhof (the big tulip show center) has great playgrounds. So, that’s a very kid-friendly destination.

If you’re bored with Paris and London, how about Rotterdam?

Great! So if OP’s kids are like yours then they should do London and Belgium. If they’re like mine, they should do Costa Rica.

Southern Spain (Andalusia) to Madrid are great. Could do a stop in Tangiers (Morocco) so kids can “be” in africa / if continent hopping us cool.

If so, try the new Fairmont in Tangiers. Honestly, if you have 10 days can do southern Spain and Morocco for a great trip.

This is ridiculous. Most families who have the resources will do BOTH kinds of trips and enjoy them for different reasons. But OP didn’t ask us should she go to Costa Rica, she asked where in Europe to go, so let’s just assume this isn’t the trip they want to go to go to Costa Rica for and offer suggestions for Europe without insulting people.
