Adoption is an option. Why end the little life? |
Children are a punishment to forced birthers. |
And remember this isn’t over, even once this passes in November.
If republicans win in 24, they have already said they will push a federal ban. Vote then out Vote them down |
They don’t need a federal ban from congress if they get the White House. A republican president could just reinterpret the comstock act or use the fda to effectively ban it. |
Oh thank goodness - thank you Ohio. |
"Adoption is an option" is a simplistic, naive thing to say and is usually said by someone who has never had to go through 9 grueling months of pregnancy, then days of grueling l&d and then signed over the fruits of that labor. You post here a lot with that simplistic phrasing of yours and clearly you are not going to ever be enlightened on this subject. But look, you can go ahead and go through the work of gestating and pushing an 8 lb baby through your vagina and then hand it over to someone and deal with your postpartum recovery and pat yourself on the back for adopting it out. Go ahead, that is your choice. It is not a choice you can force someone else to make. Pregnancy has the possibility of serious health consequences for every woman who embarks on it and the state does not have the right to force women to go through that unwillingly. L&D is torture. And the state has no business torturing women. |
How many have you adopted? |
Then why are they voting the way they are? I believe they absolutely do want unwanted pregnancies to be terminated— calling them “little lives” is so cute and facile until you’re the one losing half your blood volume in a Florida bathroom. |
If this is what “most of us” want, why is the polling so slanted? It seems like what “most of us” want is women in control of their own bodies even if you don’t like their choices. |
Ok to use abortion as birth control? You slipped up. Badly. |
Oh thank goodness. Bring it home Ohio! Pass the constitutional amendment and stop disgusting “pro-lifers” from forcing 10 year old rape victims to leave their home state. And while you are at it, allow women the dignity once again of controlling their choices. |
Personally? I don’t care if people use abortion as birth control. I don’t think a fetus, baby, zygote or any other development stage of human gets to free ride on another humans organs and endanger their lives for nine months without their ongoing consent. But even if I did buy the ridiculous argument that really people are just irresponsible and should use birth control, Republicans don’t believe there’s a right to that either https://www.help.senate.gov/chair/newsroom/press/republican-senator-blocks-bill-to-codify-americans-right-to-contraception- |
