By the end of our first full day home, we have all laundry done and put away and we're fully unpacked.

Hm that must be nice to have a nanny travel with you

It really is. We generally give the nanny two or three days off the day after we get home, so they can rest and do whatever they need after being away. But having a nanny on vacation allows DH and me to go out after the kids are in bed and enjoy time together.

It takes me a week to get back into a groove. But I am a struggle mom.

how old are your kids? When they were little, yes, everything from travel- to time on vacation- to coming home was rough. It's pretty seamless now that they're in elementary school (not talking about a jetlag trip). kids are 8 and 11.

I need a vacation after my vacation.

It takes me 4-7 days to get over jet lag and arrive back home mentally.
