Don’t workout on my period

I will sometimes take off the first day or do something very light like walking, just because of the cramps. I don’t have a need myself to take off the whole week but if that’s why your body needs then I guess that’s what your body needs.

The opposite- I'd rather use the time to work out than go shopping or swimming.
I'm hoping to lose a few pounds in few days and then I have two things to be happy about.

Movement helps the cramps but makes the already excessive menstrual crapping worse so…

I take the first day or two off because the fatigue makes my workouts terrible.

Yes, I take the first 3 days off.
I’m fatigued, bleeding a lot, but mostly I tend to injure myself more on those days. My joints feel less stable. I have autoimmune issues that affect my joints, and it’s worse on my period.

Also no need to take a whole week off. I could maybe see day 1 and 2 when it's the heaviest, but an entire week?

+1

The only thing I don’t do is inversions in yoga, while on my period which traditionally is not recommended. Also, I’m not interested in having a bleed out on my yoga pants in the middle of downward dog.

Same. I realized at some point in my late teens that if I go for a run or long walk on the day before my period, or on the first day, I don't have any cramps. So I've done that religiously for the last 20+ years and have not had a single cramp.

I also stop yoga inversions during my period, but that's it.
