If OP is only a 2.0 rated player, I highly suggest she get some lessons before she attempts to play at a country club. She’ll be laughed off the courts because of her skill level, not her race (although, I suspect, she’d blame it on racism). |
Not true at all for all clubs. There are different level teams at our club, including a C3 team for players who are advanced beginners. I wouldn’t call it racially diverse, but definitely welcoming |
If you’re laughed off the courts anywhere you can blame it on poor manners. |
Country clubs are teeming with 2.0 - 3.0 (tops) players. |
I think the 2.0 rating was sarcasm. Come on. |
Exactly this. If you’re looking for serious players the country club is the last place |
Also while there’s no excuse for rudeness anywhere, a country club has far less reason than other clubs to limit playing time to skilled players. I can see where a tennis club trying to support teams and a strong program might not be the right place for an adult beginner depending on the circumstance, but a country club imo has an obligation to welcome all players who are members. Membership is limited which means room for everyone. Pros are salaried. Etc. |
