Nats game DC - parking is that much

Anonymous
water taxi from old town. Park in one of the alexandria lots for a very cheap flat rate

The bigger question is, why is anyone paying to see the Nats?

We’ve parked at the Reagan building and then taken metro over.

They might be in last place in their division but they are playing some great ball. Expect attendance to improve.

Let's hope so! But even when they were in first place, I still always have been able to find street parking.

Really? Does this work for anyone who is a Fed?

Honestly, I don't know if it's limited to certain agencies, but they let us in. I always tell the kids we'll get cotton candy if we save the money by parking there and walking.

Best, most unique comment on DCUM. Super helpful to OP too.

What neighborhoods are you finding street parking?

This says it's fine for DoD cardholders to park there for Nationals games

Park in Geico lot. Get a ticket via Ticketmaster or stub hub. Since covid the number of parking lots has significantly decreased because of the massive construction next to the park behind the playground side. I used to park underneath The Salt Line but even there they jack up the price to crazy levels and then double park people, you could get stuck not being able to leave. I have had some crazy close calls in other lots via spot hero, including the night that woman got shot waiting for her uber by the 3rd base entrance.

Now we only park in the Geico garage. It is attached to the stadium. Getting an uber home or using the metro to leave can be too stressful for us if the crowds are bad.

Any other suggestions to get there/park?

What exactly are you looking for? Some secret magic free and empty parking lot?

Pay for parking or take the long Metro ride, those are your options. You're the one who chose to live an hour and a half from the stadium, if you want cheap and convenient access to city amenities, live near the city.

We used Spothero last year and when we got to the garage they said they were not taking any more cars and that we'd have to call Spothero for a refund. So just be aware it isn't guaranteed.

We wound up parking on the top level of the Whole Foods parking garage. They were almost to capacity when we got there, though, so that isn't a guarantee either.
