| One is impossible to get into (CMU) and the others are just difficult. |

1. CMU
2. Purdue 3. Lehigh |

CMU has a highly respected undergraduate business program and is a great engineering school.
Purdue is strong in both business & engineering. Lehigh's programs are good. The main concern about Lehigh is the campus culture which is dominated by a rich kid, Greek party scene. |

I went to Carnegie Mellon and yes, it is intense. But it is also very collaborative. People aren’t cutthroat. You can always find someone willing to help you out.
Pittsburgh is indeed a nice city. It is small, but there is enough to do and if you are outdoorsy at all there are close places to go, and of course the river if you are into river sports. |
I could have written that from the spreadsheet my kid created during the college search. What's your point? It clearly illustrates that these are wildly different schools, os if the kid gets into them all, they will have to decide which atmosphere they want: small frat-centered school, medium grind, or large party school. The kid will get a great education in either major at any of them. |
| My DC didn’t like Purdue. The students they talked to weren’t very happy and said getting classes was tough and it was impersonal. The location was also a big turnoff. They really liked Lehigh where the students they talked to seemed very happy with the school and the campus (not too big but big enough). Didn’t tour CMU. |
| FWIW, Purdue doesn't have business, they have management. Indiana is where you go for business in Indiana. |
| Can anyone comment specifically on CMU Tepper (business program). The new building is beautiful and one would think it is a less intense experience than engineering and CS...but maybe the intensity spills over? |

| Lehigh is a small school in a small town (Bethlehem). It has strong programs in both engineering and business. Carnegie Mellon is located in Pittsburgh with strong programs in in both business and engineering. In my opinion, CMU is more prestigious than either Lehigh or Perdue but is also made up of a lot of arrogant kids. The feeling is palpable on the tours of each school. Lehigh is much less snotty, imho. Perdue, I don't know anything about other than it is a big state school with a strong engineering program. A consideration is the size and location. It can be a bummer to be in a class with 300 other students. |
Bro, when you call the school “Perdue” over and over again and confuse it with the chicken people you lose all credibility. |

So funny the different impressions. My son loved his Purdue visit and found everyone very friendly and everyone he talked to in his major “enjoyed” it and recommended the program. The location is a little “out there” but there is plenty of stuff to keep college kids occupied. I have been very impressed with his ability to get classes. The career fairs are incredible and the kids are heavily sought after.

| Purdue alum here - I was never bored in college, whether I lived on-campus or off. Sure, it's the DMV, but Chicago is an easy drive if you're desperate. I just honestly don't understand the location complaints. |
