It’s just the Hamptons. My grandma had a house there from the 60s until she died a few years ago. She also saw many of those people. You’re not as special as you think. |
| Liza Minnelli, guarded but gracious and pleasant. |
| Josh Gad was very funny and kind. He kind of blended in and didn’t try to garner much attention. |
| Diana Ross came into the Hard Rock cafe in Chicago with a couple of her kids in the early 90s when I worked there. We had to rope off the entire upstairs for her. She didn't want anyone looking at her or taking any pictures. She was a goddess -- maybe the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and I only caught a glimpse of her as she walked up the stairs. We also had a bunch of the Chicago Bulls come in one night (although no MJ) -- this was during the Bulls heyday -- and I remember being overwhelmed by how tall they were. We had a manager who was about 6'5" -- we thought of him as so tall, but he looked small next to them. Eddie Murphy pulled up in a limo once, but a friend of his came in, looked around at the mob scene, and said "Oh, no. Eddie can't do this," and they left, lol. I don't blame him one bit. |

Despite the fact that I don't play piano, I've only met celebs that do.
Debbie Gibson (sorry, Deborah) - really sweet and low key, when I mentioned my DD was learning to play she turned to her, and they delved into a whole conversation about nuances that were over my head. John Legend - our boys played together at a playground, he just sat on a bench watching. when my bag next to him tipped over and fell he picked it up and resituated it. Alicia Keys - carried herself with a distinct presence, seemed to kind of want to be noticed but was gracious when people approached. |
| Joan Cusack was exactly as I would’ve expected! Kind, very normal, indulged us in conversation for a minute. A friend and I were in front of her in the security line at the Dublin airport. |
I LOVE her! |
|
Clint Eastwood - Probably my favorite that I’ve met.
Anthony Michael Hall - Incredibly rude to service staff and generally aloof. Natalie Portman - Very sweet, had her family with her. Those are the 3 so far this year. I live in Savannah and work in the historic district, so I have the opportunity to meet many actors while they’re here for filming. |

Bret Easton Ellis. Somehow both anxious and arrogant at the same time, but it came off as charming. He's like an elderly teenager.
Jennifer Aniston. Smelled of cigarettes, sweet but not very bright. Hair looks as good in person! |
|
Jennifer Aniston, she was next to us in a restaurant, she actually looked gorgeous, and glowing..seemed very animated.
Dennis Quaid when we were on holiday, he was so friendly and kind. Was in Amagansettt and Chris Martin and Gwenyth along with Christy Turlnigton and her husband and a few others were there. Chris seemed very courteous to the staff, Gwenyth looked like a dried saltine cracker, not a good look at all. She was bordering on unattractive. Christy T looked just like she does in pictures and seemed lovely. |
I was seated at the table next to Gwenyth around 10 years ago and was shocked at how aged she looked. She was beautiful, but wrinkly and leathery, like a lifetime smoker. There is clearly a lot of airbrushing whenever a photo of her is published. |
| [insert everyone and there mother's Dave Grohl encounter here. Yes, we know he's lovely. Yes, we know he's from Springfield.] |
I think she did or does smoke. Her recent eye lift combined with her leathery skin isn’t a good look. |
| I saw Craig Robinson by GW ( not sure if he’s as popular on here) and initially felt shy to say something - being conscious of peoples space and celebrities wanting to just have a normal life. I doubled back and said I was a fan and he complimented me on my shoes. He was kind and engaging. Also rather tall. |
| Muhammad Ali - He emerged from an elevator at a DC hotel and paused for a second about ten feet away from me. He looked at me, smiled and winked. Seconds later he was swarmed by other hotel guests. |
