I make about 85, dh makes about 250.
We have enough for a 4br house in the burbs, 2 reasonably nice vacations a year (not first class or 5 star). Kids go to sleepaway camp, cars are paid off but older. Almost done with student debt, no other debt other than the house. We have college savings for the kids, but it won't be enough to cover all of it. If the house AC or something dies, we can replace it no problem (even if it's begrudgingly). Technically we have enough. But I'd take a little extra and upgrade some of that travel and renovate the kitchen. |
| I make 90 and DH makes 130. I wish we made 400. |

$230k hhi. Wish for $750-1M.
Won't be possible given my wife's lack of career ambition. |
| I’m at 155k and think 200k would be good. |
|
I make $95K salary + 15% bonus.
HHI for 2023 will probably be $250K; we've been closer to $200K for a few years. I'd love to make $30K more to catch up savings from some very lean years in the recent past when DH was building a business. |
| For those of you who want $400k+, what are the things you currently can't afford but really want if you are currently in the $200-$400k bucket? |
|
Currently: 100K
Want: 101K |
| HHI is $275k. I’d love it if we were at $300k. DH is maxed as a GS15 so I guess it’s up to me. |
Downpayment for a house |
| 550k, want 750k-1M |
Financial stability. I want to be able to afford a car and not have to worry about car payments. I'm just talking about a regular car. I want to be able to remodel and upgrade our home. I want to be able to afford emergency repairs for the car and home without requiring monthly payments when they happen because we have to finance it. Extra disposable income to throw into the stock market and for us to have cash on the side for savings. |
| Whatever I make - I wish I made just a little bit more. And I’m sure that would be my response at any income level, LOL. |
| I make $2.5m as a tech exec. I wish I made $300k. My adult children would kill me to get money. |
You can give me your extra : ) |
We are very HHI and after many years there ultra high net worth. There is in fact a point where making more is kinda cool as a scoring metric but doesn’t change your life at all and not really a goal. |
