Would you take toddler to fireworks show?

Absolutely not. No fun for anyone.

I always did. I mean what choice did we have especially when we had older kids.

One parent stays home/at the hotel (if you’re traveling).

Yes I would, yes we did, they loved it! Twins!

For that PP who said they won't remember it, so what? It's not about remembering it, it's about enjoying the experience.

Yes. It wouldn’t have crossed my mind not to.

My older two didn’t go to a big fireworks show until 3 and 5, but I took my third when he was ~20 months. He did fine, but I don’t think my oldest would have been at that age. We also didn’t sit right on the main field, but in a spot a bit farther away where it wasn’t as loud.

It helps if there are extra adults, snacks, and/or things to do like bubbles, kicking a ball around, etc.

No. One of us stayed behind with my 20 month old in this situation two nights ago and my almost 5yo stayed up late for the show. It was late even for my older one!

Not a chance.

Yeah, no.

DD was fine with fireworks at 2, but terrified at 3.

We were at a community show so it was fairly easy to just go home. I’d never take a toddler to fireworks on the Mall.

Probably not because with most places where there are fireworks, you can’t leave easily or quickly if it doesn’t work out. Some kids might be fine, but mine was terrified of that kind of thing at that age.

This is all personal preference so no one but you can weigh in. I take my toddler, my cousin with children the same age and older does not. Her kids don’t do well the next day, mine are fine. She doesn’t enjoy it as much with her kids, I like experiencing it with my kids. Personal preference.

My 3 and 7 year olds have been asleep since 8 so not taking them.

I wouldn't - kids are ages 5 and 3. Not because they'd be scared or wouldn't like the noise, but because they set them off too late. We watched the Capitol 4th on TV last night, and they couldn't even make it all the way to the fireworks show then... they conked out well before 9:30.

I did when my oldest was two and I regretted it. Hope you stayed home.
