+1 My kid and their friends do exactly this several times per week. No way can 6+ people study in a dorm room together. |
| I never studied in my room - always went to the library. This backfired on me. I had a crazy, paranoid roommate who thought I was out partying every night. When she peeked at my grades (without my permission) she had a seething temper tantrum, accusing me of being a party girl who didn't deserve the same grades she got. Snarling, screaming, sobbing, demeaning, etc. I'd never been so shocked and terrified. It took me a long time to get over it. I begged for a single the next year, because I didn't know what madness could lurk below the surface of the next roommate. In later years, I realized that maybe she was jealous of my looks because she had a crush on one of the teachers in a shared class - he was a notorious flirt and I just ignored him. |
The PP said that Asians study in libraries, as if they were super studious. |
| Yes, I studied in the library and student snow study in the library, partially to meet up with friends and socialize, as well as study. |
What does your race have to do with it? |
Exactly. I met my college boyfriend in the library.
|
| My daughter always studies in the library. It's a beautiful building and she loves it. |
| I did all my work in the library. |
| I never studied in the library though friends did. Now in college, my DD always studies in the library and my DS Studies in his room. |
| College librarian here. Lots of students study and meet in the library! We've been gradually removing book stacks to create more and more study areas. |
| Yes, always. My library was beautiful and peaceful, the perfect place to study and complete homework. |
| My husband and others studied at the library in the 90s. My daughter and her friends book study rooms and go to work on homework and/or study. Quieter than the dorms and can spread out their stuff. Her desk in the dorm is pretty small. |
| We studied in the library and our kid does also - what is the question? Yeah plenty of places to study - but libraries tend to be quiet and have work stations. Again not clear on the question. |
| At William & Mary they sure as hell do. |
