had jury duty yesterday and meet a 35 year old and 33 year old that are still living at home.

Will they ever move out?

Will be more common as the country becomes less northwest European

It’s common even with educated Asian families that are well off if the kid is single

Not uncommon in Italy or Portugal or Spain

American whites will do it more and more as economics dictates as such

Or is this a failure to launch situation?

Both scenarios can have adults living at home, but the former is understandable. Living with random roommates is a FAR better and more respectable situation than living at home with your
parents. Because the former makes you grow as a person.

It was two defendant that were charge for armed robbery, but they didn’t have enough evidence, both mothers talked about they are living at home and they are good kids.

If it’s public housing it may be that they are listed as tenants so that the family doesn’t get downsized but live elsewhere. Just a possibility; what I am saying is that not everyone actually lives at their official address of record.

Good catch!

Two of my uncles did this. One bounced around on other relatives houses until he died in his early 60s and the other went to Asia and got a mail order bride.

....to take care of him.

Fixed that for you!

In this area? Much more common than many places, because it's so expensive to get your own place here, and the kids are more accustomed to luxury. Poorer adults don't have much choice.

This is the most likely scenario.
Sure, but OP asked of this was the norm. Of course it happens, but unless you live under a rock, you know this is not the norm.

It is the norm. 1 in 3 adults aged 18 to 34 live at home with their parents in the US.

As are the enablers. Failure all around.

I have a friend who is 45 and lives with her parents. She's actually a high school teacher, gainfully employed but also on the autism spectrum. She's happy, her parents are happy. I think it's not uncommon.

So they are literal criminals, and what concerns you is that they live at home?

Its hard to say as we don't know why they are living at home or what are their plans?

For all we know, they are taking care of sick parents with limited resources.

You are an ass. My DS lives at home with my disabled parent and she is 37 years old. She is a very successful attorney and wants to be there for our mom. Again, you are an ass.

A cousin in Cali has three adult kids between 27-37, all living at home.

They went away for college, got good jobs in their home metroplex and moved back. Two bought personal homes near by but still live at home 70% of the time. Parents are UMC and healthy so they don't need any help.

I guess kids like living at home and parents like having them home.

+1

If it’s not a short term thing it’s due to unmanaged mental disorders (adhd, asd, schitzo, borderline, bipolar) unless there are visible disabilities

The people in question were the defendants. They are losers. Their parents are enablers. Failure all the way around.

This situation is in no way akin to adults living at home to take care of elderly parents.

How old with the bride. Did he stay in US or move there? Did he still look good?
