Always cook and don't eat out. If you do want outside food do takeout. Save eating out for special occasions like a handful of times a year. Money saved? Hundreds over the year.

Filtered tap.water only vs store bought bottles water. Money saved not sure but over the year, a lot

Buy a new used car still under warranty. You save thousands.

Don't buy organic or much packaged food.

Make our own coffee. Always. Drip. Store brand. It's fine.

Installed mini-splits to replace underfloor heating. I expect that's saving us thousands a year, as well. We only turn on the units in the rooms we're using.

Ditto on the food stuff. I have lots of simple recipes that I rotate. It’s 15 minutes to cook salmon. Concurrently, cook frozen veggies in 10 minutes. Serve on a warmed plate. I like my coffee perked. I use a simple $35 percolator.

Wear hats, spf and sunglasses. Saves skin from early wrinkles and sun damage. You'll save thousands by avoiding botox and fancy laser and skin treatments. But for thks to be effective you have to start right away and play the long game, as in years of limited sun exposure. So start young ideally. Or start tomorrow
Never too late.

Do your own eyebrow grooming. Not sure of cost but probably saves 25 dollars a month or so.

Understand the rule.of 72, the wealth multiplier and the magic of compounding. This is future dollars but if you put your army of dollar bills to work asap and stay consistent with investing you'll save hundreds, thousands of dollars. Just Google the money guy show and wealth multiplier. (No I'm not a paid spokesperson, just a listener to their YT show).

Short hair or do you have long? I've sometimes thought of doing this. But my hair is collarbone length.
.

Medium-long hair. More forgiving than short hair to self cut and style imo

Are you a trained stylist or did you learn yourself? I'm impressed but not sure I'd have the courage to teach myself.

Go on summer vacations in early Sept. This only works for no kids, or grown kids. But airfare and hotel rates drop significantly after labor day, you avoid crowds and the weather is still warm.

Can you explain mini splits and underfloor heating?

Minisplits:

Underfloor heating is what we have in the Southwest -- it's basically water pumped through pipes under the floor. A lot of places use it in bathrooms, we had it in the whole house. Crazy expensive and wildly inefficient.

Last kid is a senior in HS this year. Can’t wait to be free of the school schedule.

Live with parents. Factoring in rent/mortgage, utilities, food, etc., I probably save $40-50K a year. On a pre-tax basis, that probably equates to $60-$75K of my income a year.
