Chesterbrook Elementary Turnover

Why are students leaving Chesterbrook for other schools?

Anyone familiar with the history of CES knows the answer to your question, OP. Are you new to the school? Talk to parents of older kids.

If many teachers are transferring- this is a leadership problem. The majority of teachers are my school are not transferring but leaving FCPS for a move or leaving education completely.

I know a lot of people leaving education all together. It's sad but this was a tough year and the future seems grim in FCPS.

Yes. Every year.
well, that’s what happens when parents run off a Principal. It’s hard to get another one.

Chesterbrook has had the same principal the last five years and, before that, there was a principal who was there many years as well. Some may have a beef with the current principal, but it's not a school that has churned principals.

The prior Principal was run off by parents and it took several tries to find the current one as a result.

Fuqua had been there for many years prior to his departure, and it took less time to find the current principal than it's taken during many other searches for new principals. You might want to study how long Lake Braddock has had interim principals at various times after Thomas and then Smith left. It was a LOT longer.

So they didn’t break the record for the longest search. It still took two rounds to get an applicant.

You aren’t posting anything you haven’t posted multiple times in the past. It’s getting a bit stale.

Your question was about Virginia Run. No one ran off a principal there, at least not in the past decade. The current principal has run teachers off at all of her previous schools too. Anyone can search this forum and see for themselves.

Our school lost of teachers as well this year. Many are retiring and MANY left bc/ of poor leadership.
