We received the messages in our personal emails (both parents). Nothing in Parentvue yet. |
| I spent today calling and emailing. One Central office employee returned my 8:15 email at 4:30 PM. |
| Central summer school has been very last-minute with communications over the past few cycles. |
|
We received the first communications from teacher and links to both of our daughters classes today.
I imagine part of the issue was they had to take the system down last weekend to close out last school year and open the new school year, but it does seem like they could at least notify kids more than one day in advance if they are going to be accepted into a class. |
Completely agree! |
| Still nothing on canvas for my kids class that starts tomorrow. |
I’m the OP of this thread. We got the welcome email yesterday and it didn’t mention Canvas/Parentvue. It said to login through Clever. I have no idea what that is but maybe that’s what all the classes use instead? |
Our email also said to use Clever. My kid said they know what it is and have logged in there before for other things. |
| They log in to Clever with their MCPS Google account. |
The two emails my kid got said the class would be up on Canvas by yesterday. |
| Perhaps different classes use different platforms. |
Last summer was also through Clever. |
Not all classes go through Clever and/or Edmentum. My son's class is on Canvas. |
I’m the PP above and my child’s class appeared in Canvas this morning. They do not use clever whatever that is. |
All students have Clever. It "automates the secure transfer of student rosters to authorized parties." Students log in to it and then see a dashboard with all of the other applications they can use. They click the icon to open the window and be automatically signed in. If they go directly to StudentVue, Canvas, Zoom, Drive, + whatever else, they have to type their login and password each time. It's a good aggregator of all of the tools the kids have access to. If only they would use it ...
