P-town on the Cape and Plymouth in July-August

There are at least four orcas (travfeling together) spotted today in Ptown, as we speak, OP. The cool part is, locals name the whales, and they have a certain way of differentiating.

Wow! That’s unusual.

But agreed that p-town is generally great. We actually took one out of Barnstable last year because it was more convenient and still saw a lot of whales.

Oh how cool! We went on one of the giant whale watching boats in Gloucester, MA, a few years ago - saw several humpbacks. It was pretty magical. I've been whale watching before without seeing any whales so my expectations were low - and it turned out to be loads of fun.

We went from Bar Harbor, ME in August and it was very long. A six hour trip. Very cold and 80% of the boat was sea sick. We did see some whales, but it's def a once and done thing for me. Hopefully you'll come across a better trip.

Our family has done several trips out of ptown and always saw lots of whales. They also come very close to the boats. We've been splashed by them and spouted on which was mostly gross.

Also went out of Gloucester - saw tons of whales. It was worth it.

Same experience out of Boston. Long, cold, lots of people sick, unimpressive whale sightings. Plus so so many older people. Never again do I want to be stuck on a 6 hr boat road with a bunch of obnoxious boomers.

Everyone, please leave the whales alone and don't go whale whatching. It's totally stressing them out 'being chased by boats all the time.
