What are you supposed to tell someone with an A1C of 12 and fasting glucose of 250? Wait on this life-saving medication?

Maybe limit to those who really need it then vs those who just want a fast weight loss fix?

You tell them they have diabetes and start them on medication for diabetes. Wegovy is approved for weight loss, not diabetes treatment.

What dosage? There isn't a shortage of 1.7 or 2.4. I haven't found the lower dose I need in VA.

Again, Wegovy isn’t approved for diabetes treatment. It’s approved for weight loss. People who take it for weight loss are not taking doses away from diabetics. And the guidelines for getting a prescription are BMI 30 or BMI 27-29 with a weight related co-morbidity, like diabetes or hypertension. People who are obese or almost obese with weight related health problems are the ones who needs it. And even if your insurance covers Wegovy, you need to meet these guidelines. It’s not meant to be taken to lose 10 pounds for that bikini and MDs who prescribe it for vanity weight loss aren’t following guidelines. That’s malpractice.

Wegovy is not a medication for diabetes.

Then I called a CVS in Westminster, MD, and asked them to do a 20-mile radius search. They found a Target in Ellicott City (the pharmacy is run by CVS) and they had two packages of 0.5 I called them and got one of the two packages they had This was at 5:30p on 6/19. Sooo the other might be gone by now, but it's worth a check.

CVS's can do a 20-mile radius search of other CVS's.

this is insanity!!!f!

Imagine being a diabetic and trying to find ozempic or Mounjaro. I’m so tired of all the soccer moms and their need for this medicine to lose 10 pounds. Please save us for people with pcos, real obesity, and diabetes

You're an obvious troll, but I'll respond anyway. ANY weight loss ages you after a certain age. There is nothing intrinsic to semaglutides that ages you faster than any other weight loss aid . The key is to 1) lose slowly (.5 to 1 lb. a week) and 2) incorporate a lot of protein. I also use collage supplements (which are also high in protein) to help with my skin.

Again, no one is getting this to lose 10 pounds.

I’m also struggling to find this dose in northern Virginia. CVS, Safeway and Wegmans all did a search and don’t have it anywhere within 20-25 miles. Wegmans said they expect it in December.

I felt bad on the 1.0 stuck it out and didn't feel as bad on the 1.7 for whatever reason

1000% totally. Add another "0" to the end and add in a few other co-morbid conditions and then you've got a good number of us who are taking this medication. Please stop making grandiose statements and making snap judgments by what you read on Page Six until you know the FACTS about who is taking this medication and why they are taking it.
