All new builds like the new high school campus should have secured safety vestibules. Not constructing them would be close to malfeasance. But ACPS should have a plan to upgrade all existing school buildings and build those vestibules w/o hesitation if they don’t already exist. I couldn’t find anything on the Capital Improvement Program website, but maybe the plans are not yet public. |
I haven't heard of any incident where a much older kid from the high school went into GW when they were not supposed to be there. My son mentioned an incident when a Hammond student (who he knows) decided to go to GW instead of Hammond for a day recently, and also heard the rumor about a kid from SSSA visiting friends at GW. |
They should. They claimed to but it's been nearly a decade and nothing has been done at the specific ES I asked about. |
They also said the student also climbed back into the building through an open window, which, if you know anything about school windows is laughable.
|
This is what my kid told me. It was an 8th grader from SSSAS who went to school with friends and by the end of the day someone snitched, so the kid tried to jump out the window. |
Are teachers still taking attendance? If they are then they would’ve known this kid was not a student and was trespassing. |
That's quaint. It's the wild west in that school. |
