So cute! |
| I wanted crutches when I was about 11. Got them for Christmas. |

My DD wanted to get me a "Buxton Organizer." It's an ugly purse with lots of pockets for your crap (sorry if anyone has one).
When we were little, my sister wanted red hair. One day, my brother painted it red with watercolors, but only painted one spot. My mom screamed because she thought it was blood. She thought my sister had fallen or something. It has always been a funny family story -- of course, it was not funny at the time. |

My daughter (2.5) also wants wine. She'll pick up bottles in the grocery store. I guess she chooses wine the way I do-- pretty labels!
I really want one of those large transparent bouncy balls filled with glitter... the tyke could take it or leave it. When I was a kid, maybe 10 or 11, I insisted on using my allowance to buy a "personal massager" at Spencers Gifts or some similar place. My mother rolled her eyes but didn't clue me in. It broke and got tossed within a year or two, and I think I was in my mid-20s before I remembered it and realized what it was! |

When my son was 3 he wanted white gloves. He saw parts of the Sound of Music and there was some scene where Georg danced with Maria and where he was wearing white gloves and clapping his hands.
Until he got his white gloves (that Christmas), my son used to put socks on his hands and dance around the house clapping. Gotta say, not nearly as cute now. Now he wants an IPAD. |
When I was 4 I wanted to spend my allowance on a hand-held shower massager because I thought that was the epitome of luxury. I didn't take showers, but I imagined myself using it to rinse off after taking a bath and thought that must be what the rich people did. So much better than rinsing with a cup. |
| My 3 yr old loves latex gloves, so he wants to be a doctor so he can wear them all the time. He also wants braces because they're "shiny". |
| When I was a kid I asked if the live display fish and fishbowl came with the set we were getting at the furniture store. |

My son is insisting we move, because he wants to live in a house with an elevator. And if asked, he will tell you he wants to be an elevator driver when he grows up. I have to admit he is good, he will ask what floor everyone is going to and hold the "open door" button until they get out safely.
Whenever we go to a toystore, what cracks me up is that he always begs for the toys he already has. What is with that? |
| when I was around 4 or 5, I really wanted long hair but my mom always cut it really short (I looked like a boy!). Anyway, I would steal her pantyhose, put them on my head and walk around the house pretending I had two long braids. |
