Funny things you or your kids have wanted

On the pillow pets topic, someone posted that their DD wanted a drain snake that she saw on an ad. I thought that was too funny and it reminded me of a story from my own childhood. When I was 4 or 5, we went to the mountains and we were in one of those rock stores - you know the ones that sell polished river rocks and geodes and whatnot. Well the lady had a feather duster up on the counter, and I had never seen one before. I thought it was beautiful! I asked if I could buy it and the lady and my whole family broke out laughing at me.

Not an especially good memory but I think it's funny now. What about you?

One of my kids wanted a toilet plunger when he was 3.

The other asked for, and received a backscratcher for Christmas.

When my daughter was 3, she begged for a tunnel she could play with in our living room. We got her one... and she was afraid of going in it. Still is.

My kid never saw a television commercial until she was 3.5 or 4. She wanted the "ove glove," miracle putty, oxi-clean, chia pets, etc.

My daughter is almost 14 months old and her most beloved plaything these days is a spatula - after loving mine so much, I got her a few mini spatulas of her own. There's one in my car right now, in fact.

When I was little, I thought my cousins were the wealthiest people in the world because they had a well decorated home. But the most impressive thing to me by far was that they had blue toilet water. (they used those "drop ins"). I so wished to grow up one day and be able to afford to have blue toilet water.

When asked what do you want to do when you grow up my brother said he wanted to work as a trash truck guy. We still joke around using that one.
