My dh always pulls his shirt over his mouth

I do it sometimes when I’m watching TV, there’s only a few T-shirts that work well for the practice, my wife asks if I’m self soothing.

Anonymous
OMG, my husband and older son do this. I don't care that it looks weird, I care that is stretches out the necks of their tshirts.

I keep my blanket over my mouth but not my face while watching TV because my face gets cold. Lol.

Does he chew it too?

It’s some sort of anxiety or stimming.

I hide my face in my turtlenecks.

For me it's introversion and cold. Maybe a touch of Asperger's and anxiety.

I’ve seen kids chew on the sleeves of their shirts but never observed what OP is describing. Do people who do this have to hold the shirt up over their mouths the whole time? Seems like it would be tiring and would make reading, my favorite couch-sitting activity, difficult.

My cheeks get cold. I a. A germphobe. I am a social introvert.

There were many aspects of pandemic I did not mind. Social distancing. Lockdown. Remote work. Masking.

My DH used to do it all the time. And then he just stopped doing it all of a sudden.

It did not bother me. It was just one of his quirks.

Same! These responses are great.

I do this, too! I'm glad my husband isn't divorcing me over it. I do plenty of worse and more annoying things he could pick from.
