This. I couldn’t vote for her based on her views on women’s rights, but I can respect her for standing up to her colleagues. She is still someone you could tell your children represents “conservatives” without necessarily conflating “conservative” with “rabid mob that invaded the capitol”

She's a die-hard conservative. She'll never be a Democrat. If you learned anything about her, it's that she doesn't compromise her core beliefs and values for political expediency.

There was a time when the parties had more of a mix of liberal and conservative views. The state of the parties now is sad.

What many on this site don't seem to understand is that things are changing politically. It's not R vs D so much anymore- it's establishment vs populist now. Establishment R and D have more in common than populist R and D.

Guns and abortion don't fit into this paradigm.

Only the GOP makes that a requirement.
