Sad not to get into WES

I think these last two posts offer false hope. Very few people go to the trouble, worry, and so forth to get accepted to these schools only to back out. They definitely question their decision and find actually paying difficult ... as this thread shows ... but they don't suddenly fall in love with DCPS and decide to sacrifice their children. That said, I sincerely hope that everyone out there finds a wonderful place for their child, even if it's not their first choice. And remember, there is always next year ... children are very resilient and cannot be held back over just one year in a less desirable school.

"they don't suddently fall in love with DCPS and decide to sacrifice their children"

19:00 I agree that 18:54 was not nice, but couldn't you have been put differently?
I am the one that said that we would consider a peek at the public schools. We live in MC, and WES is in MC. The county has goos schools.

To the OP -- if you really loved WES (which I totally understand, it's a great school) - you might consider contacting the AD or Assistant AD and just expressing your disappointment and telling them how much you loved the school. Although that might not get you a spot this year, it may just help for next year of some time in the future. I found Debra Duff, the Assistant AD, to be very approachable and friendly. Good luck!
