Happening on my house too, but in the areas that were renovated (by someone else). House was built in the 60s. |
Not always. A big portion of it is what level of finish is specified, 0-5. |
No you don't bang them in the will pop out again. You have to put a screw in next to them |
Tape comes loose because it loses adhesion with the drywall behind it. It can be because it was never fully adhered, the underlying drywall has moved, or water has gotten between them. The finish level determines how much mud is over the tape, which has no bearing on how well adhered it is. |
It happened to us when we put on Hardee Plank siding. It’s much heavier and the house settled. |
No, it's not, it's just that things swell and contract with the weather and shift over time. It's fine, OP. Your house will not fall apart. |
We had about 1,000-1,200 screws pop out in our new house. Most very visible. Drywall cracked in many cases as screws came out.
That drywall guy is everywhere. I bet he did your hour OP. I researched the heck out of this and never found a reason. Contractor and drywall company took off, never honored warranty and it cost $35,000 to repair and repaint all walls and ceilings. It sucks. I wish I knew what caused it. |
Nope. A few are normal. If you have a 3,000 sq foot house, 20-30 pops are ok. People like us had every single screw come out. That’s not a minor repair! |
