Follow the speed limit, stop at red and yellow traffic lights and stop signs and follow the law and you won't have to pay a penny. See how that works? Also, they have you on camera breaking the law, how do you think you can possibly win?

. . .

OK mee-maw

It literally costs nothing to not break traffic laws. I have no sympathy for people who speed and roll through stop signs and then whine about getting nabbed.

Theoretically we all agree with you. But some cams in DC are notoriously sneaky, because they photograph cars that do actually stop. There is one in particular that has attracted a lot of controversy in NW DC. Maybe OP's car was caught by that one.

Oh yeah, I think I remember seeing video of that one on Popville. It was supposed to show how bad the camera was because of all the false violations. But it was clear that a single car stopped.

I had a successful appeal of one of these tickets. The cameras aren't foolproof. I used the photos on the website (and relationship to other cars) to clearly show that I had made a full stop.

Presumption of innocence. Great American standard, not so much here on DCUM.

It is irrelevant which name I'd on the appeal

EXACTLY.

We have laws. Why do people complain because they are enforced.

You can work to change the laws, but not whine because you get caught breaking an existing law
