OP, you should be able to teach anything in your certification band (k-5, 7-12, etc). Apply for a full time opening in Social Studies or Reading.

My sister is a SPED teacher (K-5) and is always assigned to (2) schools. They are 10 minutes away from each other (not always the same 2 schools).

I’ve taught at 2 MCPS schools in the last 11 years and both used SPED. I was at a MCPS school before that where the RTSE hated the term, but all her teachers used it anyway.


Where are you? This is not used at the schools I've worked at.
