Has anyone gotten off the waitlist for TJ yet?

DC is on the wait pool. No one from DC's school has declined the offer. We are Asian American, no experience factors. Quite competitive middle school in Loudoun County. DC is taking Geometry this year (not sure if that matters). Realistically, what are the chances? I personally don't have high hopes.

Yes the movement on wait pool has been started. I called the admission office and thay have confirmed.

Yes, child got offer yesterday after being waitlisted.

Students from families I know are reporting getting in off the waitlist at this point.

It will be continuous for a while now.

If you haven't received any update, that means you are not getting an offer for the first round. Called admission office this morning. The chance is very much slim.

DC has not received any offer yet. I am the poster who had previously posted about DC being in wait pool. From competitive middle school in LCPS, Asian American, no experience factors. No one from DC's school declined from the initial offer that we know of. I don't want to give DC false hopes, so at this point we are just going to focus on the base school. The chance of getting an offer from TJ seems way too slim now

The office told me that they likely will have 1 more round of waitpool offers in early June and after that probably just if someone drops.

But they said you could get an offer as late as early August but the chances (obviously) went way down if the child wasn't part of the first waitpool offer.

It doesn't really matter if someone at your school declines the offer. There is no maximum cap per school like AOS/AET.
There is a countywide cap, so you would need students from Loudoun to decline, and I hear there are many.
However, these seats are not reserved for Loudoun, so the student would still have to be near the top of the overall waitlist.

The Loudoun pool would get some more spots if they were allowed to trade AET/AOS admissions.

my kid's group chat says that it was 6pm on Wednesday night that offers were released. dc didn't get in off wait pool, doesn't expect to be.

I hope they do. They didn’t last year. My daughter got it off the waitlist and declined it because she wasn’t able to visit and make an informed inperson choice.

At this point we're making plans at the base school. Would be nice for them to just tell us "no" rather than keep us waiting.

I understand. Unfortunately this is going to drip, drip... and drag into August.

What moves the waitlist at this point? Kids moving away? Just changing their mind?
