My child said nobody from the school got off the waitlist yet...is the waitlist moving but the school just didn't get anyone off? |
Same for mine. His entire friend group is on the waitlist. |
It is unlikely the WL will move, almost everyone accept the offer and haven't heard any turn down. |
The waitlist will move. Just be patient and put it out of your mind for another month or so - they will operate on their timeline, not yours. It won't move a ton - I would bet maybe one out of every 20-30 kids on the waitlist will get offered - but it will move. |
That is very high, suggesting maybe 10% of the class will turn down spots. |
I know of 2 kids who turned down .. one from Ashburn and one from RCMS |
I posted above that I doubt 10% will turn down, but now I realize that much more than this turned down among people I know who were accepted. |
The parents on this forum are usually so unsupportive, l appreciate the poster 11:11 for being nice. Hope floats so stop being the parent who brings everyone down. |
It’s easy to forget that, at bottom, these are just kids. Good luck to your kid. |
Appreciate the kind words. It’s out of everyone’s hands at this point. |
I saw the admission portal was at Maintenance today so i am assuming there is move expected on the waiting list . |
looks like sophomore/jr apps are due friday. I'm guessing they will do a wait pool update on 5/26. " is anticipated that we will begin to notify wait pool students in mid-late May with the first offers. " |
will they arrange the open house for waited pool kids after they got offer? |
yes, some movement this week. |
This is a bit confusing. I heard that in DC's school, a couple of kids had already declined the offer and a kid from wait pool from same school received the offer and has accepted. The offers are supposed to be on a rolling basis. So the movement on wait pool must have already started. They inform kids as the seats become available. |
