This whole thread is so annoying. Subject line says Nova guy, but report says DC. Then Fox shows stills from the video. Horrible thread, OP.

We just put an AirTag in our cars.

They can be detected and removed very easily.

put more than one air tag (at least two) and give them the same name. they need to be in a hard to access place, not the glove compartment. A mechanic can help with this.

Did you not read the report?

“JUST heard back from DC police who says they were not called until AFTER the vehicle was recovered about 2 miles away in NE. Report indicates car was parked at 7:40 Weds and recovered at 11. DC police reiterate if you’re the victim of a crime to call 911.”

Do you think the police are telling the truth that they weren't notified until after the fact? I don't.

+1. I don't believe the police either. The police lie about stuff like this all the time. They have nothing to lose. Nobody got hurt, nobody got arrested. Nobody is going to investigate this further.

No they actually don’t lie about “stuff like this” since they would be easily refuted by a simple call history log. They aren’t going to risk their job by making such an easily provable lie.

On what planet do police lose their jobs for lying!! Hahaha

They had left their extra fob in the trunk so when the thieves broke into the car they found they were able to start the car because the fob was close. They drove away and got some gas.

The owner I think had a Subaru that has a tracking app similar to an AirTag, and he still had his main fob with him so they simply got an uber to the location, found the car, used their fob to unlock and left with it.

Owner isn't worried thieves will retaliate because he lives in NYC and thinks they won't make the special trip just to see him.

uh.. that was totally dumb. But, I'm glad they got their car back safely.

That's what I did - I put more than one in the car and they are hidden.

Great, but he could have been shot while he was getting his car! He really should have called police to accompany him... or maybe that would have precipitated a shootout?

Sigh. I don't know. This country is out of control with guns.

No this country is out of control with criminals and lax prosecutors.

Just because you keep repeating it over and over that doesn’t make it true.

It is true and I realize you are too dense to comprehend it.

Like I said keep on repeating it while wishing…

Crime has been dropping for decades and you have been complaining about “lax prosecutors” the whole time.

Called the police? Bwahahahaha - you are joking, right?

You seriously think they will help??

Police will tell you:

- file an insurance claim. That’s is all they will do. Nothing more.

Friend’s Volkswagen was stolen off the street right in from of the Greek embassy; he immediately filed a stolen vehicle report with MPD.

He went back 2 weeks later, and the same MPD desk officer told him right to his face:

-we have no record of that theft.

MPD is a pathetic joke, and only getting worse.
