Infertility Support and Discussion
Congrats, OP! I think you are fine either way - bed rest or not. Do whatever you will regret less if you get a BFN. BUT hopefully you'll get a BFP and it won't matter!!
OP here with a sad update - my egg stopped growing over the weekend, so I didn't make it to transfer. Maybe better luck next time.
I'm so sorry, OP. Big hugs!
I'm really sorry, OP. hang in there....
I'm so sorry. That happened to me my first (stimulated) IVF, so I know how hard it is when you've gone through so much to get there. Take care of yourself. ((HUGS))
PP, did your doctor offer an explanation as to what might have happened? I am just curious because the quality of my egg was fine. I wonder if that means that they picked a "bad" sperm.

13:56 here. I questioned my RE quite a bit at the time, and he said (and I later confirmed through research) that the egg is "responsible for" the development for the embryo in the first three days, so the sperm is unlikely to be the cause if the growth arrests during that time. Somewhere around day 4-5, the embryo takes over "growth". Unfortunately, it's hard to know why the embryo didn't continue to grow. They say that 15-20% of "pregnancies" (meaning, fertilized eggs) fail before a woman even has a late period, so it seems like it happens in nature with some frequency. Not that it makes it any easier to take...
Take some time to rest, but try not to let this discourage you. FWIW, I did go on to conceive in a later cycle, and am now TTC#2. |
Thank you, PP. for providing some insight as my doctor did not provide any explanation, just that it happens quite frequently even with the most fertile couples. I will try again.
OP, hang in there, I guess there is no way to know for sure what happens to some embryos, but regardless of the reason or possible reason it sucks. We were lucky with our first round of natural cycle so I know it works, but it's not going as smoothly this time so we will try again after a little break.
Thank you for your support and words of encouragement. I definitely feel better today than yesterday. My period should start late next week, so at least I don't have to wait too long to start the process again.
I'm so sorry, OP. Best of luck with your next cycle!!!
Have you thought about scheduling accupuncture that day? Then, yes, you should lie down and relax.
